Fuck you Apple, you and your stupid headphones that don’t fit anything else but your shitty ass products.
Fuck you [redacted] for disabling Bluetooth on this piece of shit laptop.
These two things guarantee that I spend a significant amount of time fucking around with headphones because I have: regular 3.5 headphones, iHeadphones w/ stupid proprietary jack, and a Bluetooth headset. The 3.5 don’t work with my phone, iHeadphones and Bluetooth don’t work with my computer. I fucking REFUSE to buy another stupid adapter that either doesn’t work when I get it, is disabled by an iOS update, or breaks in 2 weeks.
FUCK EVERYONE, I HATE IT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Gubmint gets real upset when you circumvent the security stuff on their equipment. I break a lot of rules (like the acceptable use policy) but I tend not to fuck with the security related stuff because those guys have a tough job and I don’t want to make it more difficult with my fuckshit.
Back in the day IDGAF, but in my old age I have mellowed on conducting wildcat penetration and stress tests of government systems.

Government owned laptop, t here’s no camera in it either. I’m not sure if the laptop doesn’t have the bluetooth receiver or it’s just disabled in the registry.

Seems like the adapter I linked to would be external to the computer and no issue, unless they specifically say “NO”.
But yeah, probably best not to do anything that could get you shown the door.

I had a company-issued laptop a couple of years ago that would, with perfect consistency, freeze and then blue screen when I tried to use my Bluetooth headset for calls . The same headset has worked on everything else I’ve ever used. I’m pretty sure it was one of the various pieces of corporate crapware blowing up with some kind of driver conflict .

It’s an industry wide thing, for waterproofing mainly. Samsung and all the others do it too on their flagships, moving from 3.5 headphone jacks.

My current phone is an old Moto and the headphone jack does not anchor the male end in. Like it will just fall out if you don’t hold it there. Beats me why this is as I’ve never heard of such a problem before but it annoys the crap out of me.
